Cards for stamping club

I am teaching our community's monthly summer card class - wanted to share the 3 cards we will be making.  The cards use current and retired Stampin' Up products.

I love cupcakes and cupcake cards so had to use Stampin Up stamp set used on a card that is called Easy Events (p. 34 of catalog), with cherry cobbler Dazzling Details glitter adhesive (p. 158) on the cupcake.  You can learn how to make the double bow at my monthly classes on the second Sunday/Monday of each month. This card was cased from Colleen Vassos, who received an Honorable Mention Make & Take in the July 2012 Stampin' Success (monthly newsletter that only demonstrators receive).

The green bicycle card uses the stamp set by Stampin Up called Moving Forward (on back cover of current catalog).  It is a “Ronald MacDonald” set that when you purchase it,
$3 of it is donated to the Ronald MacDonald House Charities.  Card was cased from Jen Sannes.

I used two Stampin Up’s sets on the jar with flowers card - Reason to Smile (Costs only $5 when you order $50+ for the month of July) and the new Perfectly Preserved stamp set (on p. 29 of the Holiday catalog).  The diecuts around the flowers are Stampin Up’s Labels Collection Framelits (p. 191 of catalog).

Hope the group likes these cards and has fun making them!

Weekly card sketch challenge #49

It's time for another fun card sketch design challenge #49!

Here is the card sketch to use, and here is my card I made using My Digital Studio.

I discovered that with a few of the designer paper sets for Stampin Up's My Digital Studio you get designer papers that are not included with the actual designer set paper packs, so I used one of them for my card.  I loved all the colors and it reminded me of a quilt!

Here are more of the cards from the design team members:

Here is the link where you can upload and share the card you designed using this sketch - Christmas is always a good theme to go with if you aren't sure what to do!

Stampin Up's 2012 Convention - my 2nd one!!

We travelled to Salt Lake City in our motorcoach with our two furbabies this past week so I could attend my second Stampin Up convention - Last year I was overwhelmed but this year it was so fun and busy, busy, busy!   Here is a short video with some of the highlights from it!  The convention song keeps running through my head...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShMm7KClGeQ&feature=em-uploademail

After a day or so Inu and Tootsi got used to the "routine" of travelling...some things never change, like asking Are we there yet?  and Is it time for a potty break?

Although Inu is our "escape artist" from the soft crates, the first time left in her brand new soft crate, Tootsi quickly showed us that she was better than Inu at breaking out!  We left to go to dinner for a few hours and when we got back, she greeted us at the door, and there were papers strewn around from the little garbage sack that my husband had thrown his sausage snack bag in lol.  We discovered that she broke the plastic thingy that hooks the metal zippers together - see here:

Looks like she bite it and that is what broke the latch, then she could paw at the zipper to get it to slide down enough to get out!

Look at that innocent face - who me?  I didn't do it - it was the other dog lol!
Here is the awesome bag all convention goers received - bright and cheery, plus lighter weight than last years to carry around.  There was a sea of yellow bags!!

Here is my name badge on the sparkly neckband that my upline gave us with other goodies to put to good use at the workshops - thanks Diana!

Ask me how you can get stamps, papers, discounts, and fun by joining my team of Stampin Up stampers!

DO YOU:

Very vintage swap cards for SU convention

This past week I received my preorder from the Stampin Up holiday catalog that will be available next month - I fell in love with the tulle. There are lots of new fun products - you will enjoy seeing them and what you can do with them when you see the holiday catalog!  So I had to use two of the tulle colors (expresso and crumbcake)  to create a very vintage swap card for a swap that I signed up for at the annual Stampin Up Convention in Salt Lake City.

This is a place in the Convention hall that folks can have their picture taken - do you think these two ladies knew they were going to be in my picture?  I didn't because I just got a new Panasonic camera and was playing with the zoom..lol

Here are a couple pictures of the supplies I used to make my swap cards...As I learn to use the setting on my camera better, I think my photos will significantly improve!!

I also made a few extra of these cards so I could swap with some others who were not in the very vintage swap.  I will post a few of the beautiful cards I got in the swap later.

I  dyed the vanilla seam binding ribbon and crinkled it, then dripped more crumbcake ink on it to make it look vintagey.  I sponged the edges of the card with soft suede and colored the little pearl on the heart with a turquoise Sharpie.

I found I really liked this designer paper - International Bazaar.  The new tulle is so soft to use and easily makes beautiful ruffles, and doesn't fray when you cut it.  The Delicate Designs embossing folder on the left side of the Shimmer White cardstock looks perfect with the tulle ruffles for a vintagey look.

Since we travelled to the Stampin Up convention in our motorcoach with our two dogs, I used the table for my card making area - I put my supplies in recycled water bottle and food cartons!

Here are a few closeups of my card taken taken with my new camera.  The camera has a motion detector so takes better pictures if you wiggle or the subjects move....I sure need that!

The first day of Convention I promptly filled up my camera pic card because I forgot to take off the other pics on it of our trip and dogs - ugh.  Then the second day since I hadn't charged up the battery I could only take about 50 pictures....Yeah I'm learning how to manage my new camera!

I will be posting more pictures of how I made this card as well as more pics from Convention, now that I know to clear the disk and charge up that camera battery!

First monthly class Cards N Stuff with Mary

Last week I had my first Cards N Stuff class!  Here are the 4 cards with envelopes and Mary Poppins purse project we made.  Remember the bag that Mary Poppins pulled tons of stuff out of and it never seemed to end - that bag was bigger inside that appeared, and the little petite purse we made was like that :-)

We used both current and retired Stampin Up products.

This was a fun technique card to do - it is the triple time technique card that Dawn Olschefe shared on her blog.  The little vintage tag was the perfect detail to make this pretty card special.  The Reason to Smile stamp set was used and you can get it for only $5 if you order $50 or more of Stampin Up products from me!

Bright Blossoms stamp set, Summer Smooches designer paper, and the stripes embossing folder (all by Stampin Up) were used to make this cute card - and everyone enjoyed coloring their flowers stamp with markers!

The monochromatic green card used the new Stampin Up stamp set, Betsys Blossoms, and the little leaves from the bird punch set added the branch for the bird to sit on.  Both single and pearls in a line were used on it too.  The Mary Poppins purse was the Stampin Up diecut, petite purse, which really speeded up making it.

Everyone got to make a surprise project too!  And each person got to pick a free gift from the Thank you for coming basket.

Here is the room all set up for class, and eating snacks!  Gotta keep our energy up for all that hard work lol.

I had a display board of cards I received in swaps using new items from the Stampin Up catalog.

I finally got to use my new IKEA table and chairs - I know I not only learned new things from the ladies, but hope they learned some new cardmaking techniques using Stampin Up products.  If you want to join us, I will be having this class every month!

The next class will be Sunday, August 12th at 4 - 6 pm and repeating on Monday, August 13th at 11 - 1 pm.  Send me an email if you would like info - Just click on the Email Mary button on my new blog page OK?  Hope you can join us for a class!

Since I will be attending the annual Stampin Up Convention in Salt Lake City, I will be bringing back some new ideas to share!!

My new blog design!

Hi!  Oh things look different....
No you haven't gotten the wrong webpage/blog!!
I have gotten a new redesign of my blog, Dogg and Pony Show!!

Doesn't it fit my blog title just perfectly now?

See my two adorable furbabies, Inu (in her bed) and Tootsi (in her house) are here with us!
Yep, Inu loves her toys and tries to get anyone to play with her with them....and Tootsi loves to run around the house to get someone (preferably someone with 4 legs) to try and keep up with her but her little house is her "safe" spot that you are not suppose to follow her into!!

Who is that handsome cowboy with Tootsi?!

They keep us busy, and were the creative inspiration for my new blog design...

They just turned 4 years old in May!

How do you like my new blog design?  I love it!

If you want to see what else my blog design creator, Cristena Bagne, does, you can see her info here:
